Learn how to achieve multiple colors in a woodblock image with perfect registration through reduction printing.

This workshop will be an introduction to the technique of reduction woodblock printing, using the two Vandercook Universal presses in the Maine Media Book Arts studio. Students will be guided through the process, from preliminary drawing to finished print while learning about cutting tools, carving sequence and color mixing. Each student will carve and edition their own print.

Nancy Loeber

Nancy Loeber is a printmaker and bookbinder living in Brooklyn, NY. She has taught at the Center for Book Arts, Pratt University, Fashion Institute of Technology, Penland School of Craft and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking. She was a resident artist in the Maine Media Book Arts Studio in Fall 2016.
