Learn the techniques, methodologies and aesthetics of color correction and grading as used in professional filmmaking

This workshop is an introduction to digital color correction and grading using DaVinci Resolve Lite. Utilizing a workshop atmosphere in combination with lectures, demonstrations and projects, students will take their first steps toward a technical understanding of the art and craft of color correction and grading for digital video.

Class covers the digital color grading workflow from initial resolve setup and color theory to node structures and delivery.  Students learn the tools and nuances of color matching and how to take projects to the next level with graded looks.

Winter/Spring lodging and meal package available for $475. Includes breakfast and lunch Monday – Friday. Dinner services are not available during our Winter/Spring session. Meal plan (mandatory) without lodging $125.

Instructors

David Martinez

David Martinez is a documentary filmmaker, known for his cinematic approach to non-fiction storytelling and camera work. David has traveled the world as a cinematographer and colorist. His immersion in film productions, both in the camera department as well as the post-production department, has given him the opportunity to work for clients such as Volvo, McKinsey Social Initiative, Vitec Group, Crankworx and others.

After completing the Cinematography Intensive training at Maine Media Workshops, David returned for two seasons as the Post Production Manager. His experience has given him a great understanding about the relationship between cinematography and post-production.
