There is no better way than non-fiction filmmaking to more deeply know storytelling… and yourself.  If used fully, the craft itself demands that of us.

This course will use case studies from multiple mediums to dig into the craft, understand what it is, and how an intentional and immersive use of the craft can transform material into an experience… for viewers and for yourself, as you go about giving yourself over to the creative process.

The week is not just for documentary enthusiasts, but also illuminates the craft of storytelling for anyone in any audiovisual medium (e.g. interviews, commercials, industrials, weddings, music videos, fiction, radio, etc.), and includes examples from non-documentary mediums.  Whatever your bailiwick or interest – shooting, writing, editing, artful interviewing, etc. - this course will help you better design your work to fully harness its strengths and make good use of its challenges.  Active group discussion and one-on-one time with the teacher, included as well.

Winter/Spring lodging and meal package available for $475. Includes breakfast and lunch Monday - Friday. Dinner services are not available during our Winter/Spring session. Meal plan (mandatory) without lodging is $125
