Place, Land & Space Photography Intensive Workshops

Week 1: First Mentored Week

In addition to the workshops, you will be paired with a mentor from our resident faculty who will assist your creative development.

Week 2: The Quiet Landscape: Beyond the Picture Postcard

Delve into the art of capturing landscapes with depth and emotion, moving beyond the cliché postcard image to create memorable and powerful images with your own distinct visual voice. The Quiet Landscape is a fresh approach to traditional landscape photography. Break the rules, look deeper, and ignore the easy postcard shots. In this workshop, you will be challenged to remove the clutter, the obvious, and the cliché from your frame to create memorable and powerful images.

Week 3: Painted Landscape: Nature in Motion

Create unique images with brushstroke-like qualities that range from impressionistic to abstract, photographs that literally blur the reality of nature. Unprecedented climate change calls for a dramatic reimagining of how we, as artists and photographers, portray the landscapes around us. Join Brian Kaufman for an intensely creative week to build a Painted Landscape of your own that challenges the notion of nature as steadfast.
