Magela Crosignani is originally from Uruguay and holds a BFA degree in Film from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and a Masters degree in Cinematography from the American Film Institute. In the last decade Magela has shot a number of feature films as Director of Photography which have led her to receive numerous cinematography awards and to participate in some of the most prestigious film festivals in the world.

Magela´s love for lighting, color and composition can be seen in her photography series “Something is always far away” which explores ideas of displacement, identity and the need to find meaning in our lives. Images from this series have been shown at the Griffin Museum of Photography, the Los Angeles Center of Photography, The darkroom Gallery, and they are in the homes of collectors in the USA.
