Discover why DaVinci Resolve has become an enormously popular editing and post-production tool. Resolve combines editing, color correction, visual effects, motion graphics and audio post production all in one software. With an elegant and modern interface that is fast to learn and easy for new users, yet powerful for professionals, DaVinci Resolve lets users work faster and at a higher quality because users don’t have to learn multiple apps or switch software for different tasks.

This one-week workshop is designed for anyone who wants to develop a basic understanding of the Blackmagic Davinci Resolve postproduction software solution and become Blackmagic-certified as an End User and Colorist.

Introduction to DaVinci Resolve - Color interface

This beginner-level workshop provides step-by-step training that covers all aspects of the software platform, from loading media, using the Cut and Edit pages, the basics of the Color and Fusion pages, and the Fairlight page, all the way to delivering projects.

In addition to learning the fundamentals of editing in Resolve, you’ll learn how to use Resolve’s color correction tools in detail, a wide variety of workflows, effects and tools that can take your post-production color skills to the next level.

Guided by an experienced Colorist and Color Scientist, the week will use the Blackmagic-approved certification course in The Beginner’s Guide to Davinci Resolve 18 and The Colorist Guide to Davinci Resolve 18

Leave with the skills and knowledge necessary to work in Resolve and to able to take the Blackmagic certification quiz and become certified as an End User and Colorist.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need a copy of Blackmagic Davinci Resolve (version 18 or 19). The Studio version is helpful, but not necessary. While Blackmagic has released DaVinci Resolve 19, and the link below will lead you to the free download for it, Blackmagic doesn’t currently offer certification for Resolve 19, thus the current certification materials relate to version 18. But you may use either version 18 or 19 for the purposes of this course.

You will also need to download the training media from the Blackmagic Design website.  Scroll down to training books and select the Beginner’s Guide and the Colorist’s Guide. It’s helpful if you download both these as PDF files and have them saved where they can be easily accessed.
